    Supercritical CO2 extraction and drying units

    Maximator France is currently designing and manufacturing two modular systems in supercritical fluid equipment field, one for extracting compounds from natural product (raw material), and another one for extracting as well, plus drying aerogel samples.

    The process consists in solubilizing, extracting and recovering valuable compounds from a porous solid raw material, using the appropriated supercritical CO2 carbon dioxide fluid as a solvent. A simple variation of pressure (up to 350 bar) and temperature parameters (up to 350°C) allows selective molecules extraction from the same raw material (feed), which is a great advantage compared to traditional extraction methods. The tiny adjunction of a co-solvent allows to modify the polarity of the main solvent and increases then the solubilizing power.

    Final utilization of those two units will be in the domain of research.

    Is called supercritical CO2 a fluid state of carbon dioxide where it is held at or above its critical temperature (304,25 K) and critical pressure (72,9 atm).
